Ribbon on a Stick

To go along with May Day my children and I made a ribbon on a stick. So here we go.

You will need the following:

– Dowel stick
– different lengths and widths of ribbon
– A very small drill bit
– Scissors
– Glue
– Small saw
– Zinc ring on a screw eye
Most Dowels are too long so go ahead and cut it in half. and drill a small hole on one end.

Place the eye screw and twist into the small drilled hole. And go ahead and place your different length ribbons through

knot the ends of your ribbons and or glue the end of the ribbon to the longer ribbon after threading it through the eye screw so it creates a loops. Also to help decrease fraying of the ribbons put some glue at the very end of the ribbons.

Now it’s all done and your kids can go twirl, spin or dance with it. This is fun for all ages boys and girls alike.
